The answer's to your questions
What are Powder Brows & Lip Blush?
Powder Brows & Lip Blush is an advanced semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo.
This non-invasive technique that uses a small machine with a single needle to disperse thousands of micro dots of pigment into the brow line/lip creating a very natural 3-dimensional powder like look.
Does it hurt?
Most people describe the sensation as a minor discomfort, it is nothing like getting an ordinary tattoo. Topical anesthetic is used to minimise any discomfort. Some tenderness and irritation can be expected in the first few day’s post treatment but is very minimal.
How long does the treatment take?
Sessions vary in length depending on a variety of factors but allow plenty of time, it’s not something you want to rush!
Powder brows: 2.5 hrs
Lip Blush: 3 hrs
Do I have to have 2 sessions?
Yes, you do. Results after 1 session vary significantly depending on age, skin type etc. Allowing 5-6 weeks between sessions lets your first treatment settle and gives us the opportunity to give you the best final result possible. A very small number of clients require a 3rd session as the skin can on occasion struggle to hold onto the pigment.
Is flaking normal?
Absolutely! Your brows and lips will start flaking over from around day 3 onwards and it will likely be itchy. DO NOT pick or scratch! This may result in pigment loss. Let your brows and lips flake naturally.
How important is aftercare?
Aftercare is everything! It’s not rocket science. The better your aftercare the better your result! Please refer to our care tab for instructions and tips.
Can I exercise post treatment?
Refrain from heavy exercise for 7 days. No sweating!
Do we offer microblading?
NOPE! We are not microblading fans! Powder brows are less invasive, much less painful and are proven to have much better results over time.
What is the difference between Powder brows and microblading?
The microblading technique uses a scalpel like hand tool to make small incisions into the skin which is filled with pigment, mimicking hair strokes. The ‘strokes can fade, blur and sometimes even change colour. This technique is traumatic for the skin and can also cause significant scarring over time. It depends on the skill of the artist also. Our powder brow technique uses a small machine with a single needle to disperse thousands of micro dots of pigment into the brow line, creating a very natural 3-dimensional powder like look. This technique is far less invasive for your skin, heals quickly and the results are much more predictable long term.
How long will my cosmetic tattoo last?
Powder brows can last 18months-2 years.Lip Blush can last 2-3 years.
However, results can vary dependent on a client’s skin type, lifestyle, age, health profile and brow care.
Why have my brows or lips disappeared?
After your initial appointment your brows will fade 30-40%. In some cases, it can seem like they have completely disappeared. Don’t be alarmed, they will reappear slowly as healing takes place under the skin. At 2nd appointment the new pigment will cling to already deposited pigment and created a stronger bolder colour.
How do you choose the colour?
Complete flexibility is available and the colour will be decided in your first session. Your hair colour and skin tone are usually the starting points and we’ll also discuss with you your preference, the look you are trying to achieve. Bring along your brow pencil or lip stick and we can custom colour match where possible.
